Author: Brian Sommer

You already know that you must have a healthy heart. Here's something for you to think about: if your heart isn't fit then the rest of you won't be healthy. You already understand that regular workout and a healthy lifestyle are important in terms of the overall health of your heart. Still, are you aware that there are some foods that have been proven to help you improve your heart health? If you would like to know which foods to eat to improve your heart health, keep on reading.

Believe it or not, beans are really great for your heart health. Sure, the after-effects of eating beans might not be the best for your nose, but they are so healthy for you. This doesn't mean that the simple act of eating beans will counterbalance the effects of other bad foods you might be eating. What is true, though, is that having green beans on your Caesar's salad instead of chicken or consuming soy burgers instead of beef hamburgers is a great course of action to take. Thankfully, beans are really tasty and you never know...you might not even moss eating the real beef or chicken.

Be aware that blueberries are good for your heart. You'll be happy to know that blueberries are high in antioxidants, particularly pterostilbene. Pterostilbene works just like the resveratrol you will find in grapes. This antioxidant could be able to help your body improve its ability to process the fat and cholesterol you eat. If your body is able to easily process fat and cholesterol, they will not amass in your body or cause problems for your heart. That, essentially, helps your heart be as healthy as possible.

Be aware that fish is just about the healthiest food out there. You probably know this as you've probably been told to ensure that you eat fish at least twice a week. This is especially true for individuals whose hearts aren't healthy or doing well. Be aware that fish is rich in Omega 3's which are elements that process cholesterol and transform it into healthy energy. Include fish in two meals every week.

Have you heard the old saying "an apple a day keeps the doctor away"? The truth is that apples contain loads of terrific stuff in them to help keep your heart healthy. Apples are known to contain loads of soluble fiber which acts sort of like a scrub brush on your artery walls so that cholesterol can't amass and build up into blockages. The truth is that eating a single Red Delicious apple every day can trigger as much as an eight percent drop in your LDL cholesterol levels. That's a fantastic number if you're working to make your heart healthy!

There are plenty of foods that are good for your body. The truth is that everything that we've talked about here can help your body in many ways. These foods are especially good for the heart, though. Try to begin eating these hearty foods on a regular basis. Your heart will benefit from it!
